trueCall
If you've ever experienced nuisance phone calls, and attempted to have those numbers blocked, you'll know that the tools the big phone operators offer aren't very advanced. That's where trueCall comes in: it's a call screener you can manage with your PC or online. It sits between a landline phone and the wall socket, and works by requesting the name of unrecognised callers and asking you if you want to speak to them before putting them through. The device can be managed using your phone keypad or through the trueCall website. Plus, it's an answering machine and also lets you record phone calls to a SD card, which slots in at the side. A capable piece of kit, but pricey and the internet management feature is £15 per year after the first year, too.
