Chess Knights celebrate victory
Chess Telecom celebrated its football team, the Chess Knights, winning the Plate trophy at the recent Barclays Merseyside Football Tournament.
The tournament consisted of Barclays corporate customers from around the North West playing in aid of the Prince’s Trust charity, and collectively raised over £16,000.
Says Mark Cunliffe, financial controller at Chess and team captain: “The whole team is delighted that we played a part in helping to raise so much money for Prince’s Trust. Winning the tournament is the icing on the cake but to help such an inspirational charity that does such a fantastic job helping youngsters get back on their feet is the real prize.”
After losing their first two games Chess rallied to take the winner’s Plate back to its head office in Alderley Edge.
