Intrinsic tees off for charity
Tony McCormick and Neil Jolliffe, both project managers at Intrinsic Technology, braved a 5.30am start at Hurlston Hall Golf and Country Club in Ormskirk. They successfully achieved their aim, playing four 18-hole rounds of golf in a single day, an exhausting golfathon that took them to 7pm without a break.
Through generous donations, they raised a total of £2500 for Macmillan nurses, who provide much-needed support and advice to those affected by cancer.
Says Jolliffe: “We were both in agony after the day. Nonetheless, it was fantastic to get through the rounds before dark, especially without our scores declining too much. Macmillan is such an important charity as almost everyone has had someone close to them affected by cancer. We were thrilled to raise so much money for them. We’re definitely going to do this again and may even target five rounds next time!”
Hurlston Hall supported the golfathon by waiving green fees and providing complimentary refreshments.
