Management team expanded; MTI and ANS Group first to sign up for new programme

MTI is one of only a handful of Cisco Advanced Datacentre Partners and also holds senior certifications with VMware and EMC. MTI, which also maintains a partner agreement with Sun Microsystems (NasdaqGS: JAVA), will now be able to offer datacentre-class servers from Cisco through Magirus.

With more than 1,200 customers, the addition of MTI is a good start for Magirus, as Aad Dekkers, MTI chief marketing officer and head of business development, comments: “Until now, what’s been missing is a single distributor that offers the know-how, technology and services to be a trusted pair of hands in this space. Magirus fills this gap, just as we do in the integrator space, by realising the ‘Virtual Computing Environment,’ not simply in the UK but Europe-wide.”

ANS Group is also a senior Cisco and VMware certified partner with NetApp instead of EMC as its storage element. The firm has built a strong reputation delivering solutions especially into local government and the NHS. The creation of a new division is welcomed by ANS Group managing director, Paul Sweeney who says: “Magirus enables us to pass on better delivery times than if we went to Cisco direct and provides a real value-added service. This is vital when penetrating any new high-value market.”

Magirus announced the creation of a Data Centre Division in February which it forecasts will boost revenues by an additional 20 percent within the next two years. The move followed the recent appointment of Magirus as the first major distributor signed by Cisco in Europe for six years.
