RES Software signs up virtualisation specialist partners
Workspace management specialist RES Software today unveiled four new UK channel partners – Bytes, Prolinx, Orange Information Systems Group and Strategic Technologies – which will now offer RES PowerFuse to customers as part of their desktop transformation projects.
RES PowerFuse separates a user’s desktop from the underlying operating system to create a dynamic user workspace. This can be applied to any new desktop environment, ensuring that personal profiles and settings remain in place even though the underlying infrastructure has changed.
Says Mike Wheeler, commercial director at Prolinx: “We are seeing a great deal of interest from our customers in how their desktop strategies are changing, particularly given the benefits that desktop virtualisation can provide.”
“Interest in desktop virtualisation is high across the public sector. For many organisations there has been a significant length of time since their last desktop refresh,” adds Sonal Parekh, vendor relations manager at Bytes.
“However, these organisations are very conscious of the need for quantifiable return on investment or reduced cost of ownership and support, so any project has to prove its worth very quickly. RES Software user workspace management solutions will play a key role in assisting us to deliver solutions that meet these requirements.”
The company’s partner network now comprises 170 channel partners worldwide, alongside relationships with vendors such as Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, CA Technologies and Double-Take Software.
RES Software recently appointed a channel manager, Daniel Mee, and is investing heavily in reseller recruitment, according to the firm. Says Ronnie Khan, UK country manager for RES Software: “We are seeing significant interest in the channel around how to turn desktop virtualisation from a nice-to-have into a must-buy technology within customers… We are looking forward to working with these new partners to turn this initial interest in desktop virtualisation into real deployments that provide customers with the benefits they expect.”
