HP has made it easier for current Preferred Partners to qualify for the 2010 programme, which will recognise existing 2009 credentials.

HP has announced details of its 2010 Preferred Partner Programme. On top of the existing 2009 programme, the 2010 programme recognises partners’ existing credentials, reducing the number of entry requirements for current Preferred Partners and saving them significant administrative time in qualifying for 2010, says the firm.
The programme will recognise existing 2009 credentials, including the Partner Fundamentals training and other certifications, providing significant time and cost-saving benefits to eligible partners. 2009 Preferred Partners who have already met certification requirements will now only need to meet the new revenue criteria to gain entry into the 2010 programme.
“Given the programme’s proven ability to deliver on the needs of its members and the importance of maintaining stability in the current environment, we will be making only minimal changes to the 2010 programme. We will also be making it easier for our partners to do business with HP in what undoubtedly remains a challenging time for them,” says Antoine Barre, VP, Solution Partners Organisation, HP EMEA in a statement.
HP is also simplifying its imaging and printing channel business into a single I&P programme that will help partners grow sales in a “simpler, more profitable way”. This includes giving partners the opportunity to benefit from sales-related bonuses and special pricing on the I&P products and services portfolio, and enabling them to qualify for business development programmes designed to capture market growth opportunities, such as pay per usage contracts and large-format printing solutions.
HP is also consolidating its hardware and supplies businesses under a single accreditation programme, and providing a single HP point of contact, which it says will streamline communications and enable more efficient, lower-cost account management.
The 2010 Preferred Partner Programme will be effective November 1, 2009.
