Alcatel-Lucent builds VoIP protection with Brick
Security and convergence distributor Sphinx is to expand its portfolio to include Alcatel-Lucent’s VPN Firewall Brick security platform.
A growing number of companies are looking to capitalise on the need by businesses to their secure voice and data systems. In particular, the use of VoIP systems can expose them to “countless security risks” if not effectively secured, says the vendor.
Alcatel-Lucent will bring the VPN Firewall Brick security platform to its indirect business partners, as well as Sphinx’s existing security resellers. The Bell Labs designed solution – originally created to secure the US government’s classified networks – safeguards and guarantees quality of service for VoIP calls, and protects web facing applications.
“We are excited to be extending our Alcatel-Lucent product portfolio and see massive potential for the Brick solution,” said Mark Hatton, managing director at Sphinx. “By providing first-class security solutions to address the current market demands, we can help our channel partners widen their product portfolios and increase margins during these difficult economic times.”
Earlier this month security VAD Wick Hill announced a move into the convergence arena via a partnership with Samsung.
