Websense appliance makes debut to partners
Email and web filtering software specialist Websense, has unveiled its first appliance product – the V10000 web gateway.
“Effective protection in today’s Web 2.0 world requires the ability to analyse Web content in real-time to recognise threats and inappropriate content ‘on the fly,’ even content never before classified,” says John McCormack, senior vice president of product development of Websense in a statement. “The Websense V10000 secure Web gateway appliance leverages our unprecedented visibility into the threat environment to deliver more effective protection from inbound threats and outbound data loss.”
“For our partners, it allows them to expand their portfolio with a best-in-class market leading web security vendor,” Ross Dyer, technical manager Websense told Channel Pro. “It will enable them to increase revenues, sales and services through areas of implementation and support.
“Most importantly, it allows Websense partners to differentiate from other vendors who still sell proprietary appliances which are locked down and inflexible.”
Websense has unveiled a number of new tools for channel partners to coincide with the availability of the V10000 launch. Resources include instructor-led technical and sales training, both in-person and online at Websense University, free hosted evaluations for customers and demonstration units, on-demand webcasts on the Websense partner portal and whitepapers.
Pricing for the Websense V10000 appliance is $16,000 in addition to software subscription costs, and will be available in late April.
