Q1 targets network security VARS with VADition agreement
Web 2.0 and social networking distributor VADition has signed up to deliver Q1 Labs’ security information and event management (SIEM) products to the UK and Ireland.
VADition will offer Q1 Labs’ QRadar family of network security management hardware and software solutions to its VARs, with the vendor looking to sign up network security management specialists in particular.
Q1 Labs believes there are strong market drivers for managing network security. Says Tom Turner, VP marketing and channel sales at the vendor: “Enterprises of all sizes today around the world need to have complete visibility into what is occurring with their networks, datacentres, and applications – from the physical to the application layer – in order to better protect their critical IT assets and meet various compliance requirements and regulatory mandate. Additionally, enterprises are under steady attacks from external and, increasingly, internal threats and need to constantly guard against fraud and other dangers that can bring havoc to organisations.”
Turner says the appliance-based QRadar range allows customers to respond to the right offences at the right time through effective analysis of network and security log files and deploy a compliance and policy safety net with comprehensive event storage and reporting.
“There is a growing threat landscape and increase of information brought about by Web 2.0 work practices and mass collaboration. As a result, technologies from vendors like Q1 Labs that enable IT simplification and automation present a huge opportunity for our partners as they address the OPEX reduction demands of their customers,” says Barrie Desmond, business development director at VADition.
