Arrow snaps up Sphinx

Arrow Electronics (ARW) has acquired security and networking specialist distributor Sphinx Group Limited.
Nottingham-based Sphinx has 100 employees and 20 security and networking vendors – including Siemens, Alcatel Lucent, McAfee, Juniper and Webroot – and more than 1,000 resellers across the UK. The firm’s total sales in 2009 were approximately $82.5m.
“This acquisition builds on our strategy to increase security and networking capabilities and expands our presence in Europe,” says Andy Bryant, president of Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions.
Post-acquisition, the company will report through Arrow's ECS' European business.
