New addition to CIX range offers customers doubles the capacity of the previous largest platform, signalling move into larger markets for Toshiba.

Toshiba’s telecoms division, Toshiba BCD, is eyeing a move into the enterprise space with the latest addition to its CIX communication platform range.

Traditionally a player in the SME and contact centre market, the launch of the CIX1200 signals a move by the firm into the larger enterprise space, with more products planned for next year.
Daniel Fuller-Smith, sales manager, UK and EMEA, Toshiba tells Channel Pro: “By providing the CIX1200 our partners can target much larger organisations...This may present new partner opportunities for us, especially as we continue to move into the enterprise market, we will be launching a number of new products to support the release of a new enterprise platform early next year.”

The CIX1200, the largest of its CIX range, offers nearly double the port capacity of the CIX670 with up to 1,000 extensions.
“The development of the CIX1200 is in response to demands from our existing partners, who have opportunities to implement systems of this size in large enterprises,” says Fuller-Smith. “By developing this larger system existing users can upgrade easily, without having to rip out and replace the system because they are backwards/forward compatible. However, it also opens new revenue opportunities for Toshiba partners who can now target larger-scale customers.”

Says Adrian Auld, MD of Toshiba partner Voice Services: “Toshiba’s expansion into the medium to large enterprise market means we can continue to support our customers looking to upscale, particularly those with branch offices.”
