Colt wants to align with managed service providers in response to market demand, particularly from SMBs.

Voice and data provider Colt has issued a call for potential managed service partners to target the SME sector.
Says Andy Horn, head of Colt’s SME division in the UK: “Voice is still very important to Colt, but we see a great opportunity in the current environment to really leverage the managed services side. We are looking for more partners that match our footprint in that area.

“Colt is very focused on becoming an ICT service bureau, and we see the channel as getting us there. We need partners that are aligned with our overall strategy – managed services and hosted services.”

Horn continues: “The SME market has changed and customer dynamics have changed. As recently as two or three years ago anything that was ICT-related was seen as a cost. Nowadays you need the whole infrastructure, the network, for a competitive advantage. It’s no longer seen as a cost but as a revenue generator.
“Customers are looking for partners to provide more, to help them out more, to help their business grow.”
