Ebuyer sponsors world record rowing attempt

Online electronics retail giant Ebuyer.com has become an official team sponsorship of Yorkshire rowers Alex Macdonald and Luke Grose as they attempt to break the record for the fastest trans-Atlantic crossing as part of the toughest rowing race in the world, the Woodvale Atlantic.

On December 6 2009, Team JCT600 will embark on an epic 3,000 mile journey from the Spanish island of La Gomera, near Tenerife, to the Caribbean island of Antigua. On average, the trip should take 55 days yet the Yorkshire duo have decided to challenge the current world record and attempt to complete the arduous journey across the Atlantic in just 40 days!

As well as a gruelling sprint coast-to-coast, the pair will also face 30ft waves, the inherent danger of crossing tanker lanes and shark-infested waters. However, the crew are determined to bring the world record back to Yorkshire and everyone at Ebuyer.com is fully supporting their challenge.
