Avnet account manager loses locks for Comic Relief

Sandeep Patel, an Avnet Technology Solutions account manager agreed to shave his long flowing locks for Comic Relief if Avnet’s Warrington office could raise £1000 on the morning of Red Nose Day
The target was reached in just one hour and 45 minutes.
Says Patel said, “I have had long hair for nearly seven years and decided to do something funny for money and challenged my colleagues to raise £1000 for Comic Relief.  They certainly met the target and more, with nearly £1500 collected before lunch, then there was no turning back.”
A web page at www.justgiving.com/sanhairbegone was created and immediately donations started to arrive and continue to do so. 
Patel adds: “I wasn’t sure whether my challenge would work but I should have known that my Avnet colleagues would exceed any target set for them.  I would like to thank everyone for this fantastic achievement and to those people at our key Vendor Partner Oracle who also contributed.
“It is encouraging to know that my personal transformation will help to transform the lives of children in Africa through the efforts of Comic Relief. Once again thank you everyone.”
