Hosting firm outlines plans to increase indirect channel; double UK business

Hosting provider PEER 1 Hosting has revealed plans to ramp up its indirect business.

The firm has unveiled a revamped partner programme, and a new channel head, Amanda Dunn, who will lead a campaign to recruit resellers and systems integrators across the UK.

“Worldwide, we want to focus on our channel business,” explains Dunn. “Today it’s a small portion of our business, but we want to grow it to 50 percent.”

The Canadian firm has 770 customers in EMEA, mostly in the UK. It hopes to entice potential channel partners with a new-look partner portal, and the prospect of ‘evergreen’ annuity revenues.  PEER 1 is about to open its second datacentre, and says that owning the network is a major selling point.

With revenues of £5.2m, the UK currently represents five percent of its worldwide business. Says Dunn: “We want to double the business in UK. We’ve got the backbone, people and processes.

She adds: “We’re looking for partners that are going to provide a good service. Also partners in different vertical markets: SIs, digital marketing agencies, IT consultancies, web application developers, software vendors and non-competitive hosting companies.
