Kiwi sound wizards land with Kondor
Audio products vendor Blackbox has signed its first UK distribution agreement with audio and mobile accessories specialist Kondor.
The exclusive agreement brings availability of the Blackbox range of noise-cancelling audio equipment into the UK market at a price versus performance ratio that it hopes can rival market leader Sennheiser.
Neil Truckell, UK brand manager of Blackbox, comments, “Blackbox has enjoyed considerable success in breaking new markets around the world and selecting the right distribution partner is a critical element in building market share. Kondor offers the specialist sector expertise we demand and their track record in building retail channels is very strong.”
Although not a well-known brand outside of Australia and New Zealand, audio aficionados have warmed to the active noise-cancellation technology that Blackbox licences from Phitek. The system is used by 50 airlines worldwide and intelligently measures the noise field close to the ear and calculates an “anti-noise” response which adapts to the prevailing noise conditions and is reintroduced to the headphone speaker, resulting in near silence.
Kondor, which is also a top tier distributor for rival brands such as Sennheiser, Altec Lansing and Skullcandy will initially carry four noise-cancelling headphone and earphone products from the Blackbox.
