Polycom appoints Payne to lead sales

Video and telepresence vendor Polycom has announced the appointment of Aaron Payne as area sales VP for the UK & Ireland. Payne will be responsible for leading Polycom’s direct and channel sales teams, and driving the company’s growth in the region.
                                  
Prior to joining Polycom, Payne was the director of Global Sales at Obsidian Wireless, driving sales of fixed to mobile converged (FMC) solutions. He also held senior management positions at Touch Telecom, Avaya and Siemens.

Payne says he will be “dedicated to understanding the business and the team, in order to identify the market opportunities and revamp the existing channel and sales strategy.”
                      
 “The videoconferencing industry has weathered the economic storm reasonably well and is better positioned than many other industries. It is vital for Polycom to seize the market opportunities and grow our market share,” says Steve Leyland, general manager EMEA at Polycom. “We are confident that Payne will continue to steer Polycom full speed ahead in the right direction.”
