Distributor lines up vendors to target display market

Distributor VIP Computers has today announced it is sharpening its focus on the display market after signing up a raft of new vendors and launching a new advertising campaign centred on 3D monitors.
Recently appointing Louise Doyle to head up its new Display Monitor business unit, VIP says it plans to increase its emphasis on the display market significantly over the next year. “Getting the right products at the right price is going to be key in this market,” says Doyle.
“I've already established some key relationships for VIP with the vendors and look forward to bringing new opportunities to both VIP and our reseller base.”
Despite many manufacturers seeing stagnant sales in the global display market last year, VIP cites recent research from analyst firm DisplaySearch that shows a growing trend for the 3D LCD display market, with the segment is already demonstrating 264 percent year on growth.
Says VIP sales director, Dave Stevinson: “The growth in this market is particularly encouraging.”
In addition to vendors such as BenQ and ASUS, last week VIP announced it had also signed Taiwanese monitor brand AOC, now targeting the UK after achieving 60 percent sales increase last year, shipping 16m units worldwide.
