AVG grows cloud based security channel
Fifth of partners adopt Cloudcare
Internet security vendor AVG claims it has signed its thousandth partner into its CloudCare platform or around a fifth of its 5000 strong partner community.
The news coincides with the launch of a new version of the platform that adds improved content filtering, remote desktop and an automated tool for the remote removal of rival security products.
AVG claims its partners are now managing “tens of thousands of small business endpoints” across the UK and North America and a a recent partner survey reports 80 percent of CloudCare adopters “perceive an increased efficiency” with the new platform.
“Our success to date has been driven by a close collaboration between our development team and partner base to bring the right product to market at the right time for our customers,” says Mike Foreman, general manager for SMB for AVG (pictured).
The platform is still offered to partners in a “no obligation” 30-day trial before purchase model and Foreman points out that built-in reporting and alerts, will make, “it even easier for our partners to add value to their small business customers via the cloud.”
The service, which launched in November of 2012, allows partners to control both pricing and billing and includes antivirus and end-point content filtering. The firm has also added a 24-month billing option in an effort to help partners offer more cost effective long duration pricing options.
