Phoenix posts double digit growth
Strong sales driven by success in public sector
VAR Phoenix Software is celebrating after delivering double digit growth for the fifth consecutive year.
The firm posted a turnover of £84m – a growth in sales of 13.6 percent – and operating profits of £5m, up 28 percent from £3.9m.
John Forsyth, managing director of Phoenix Software Ltd said he was delighted with the “strong demand” for the firm’s SAM and IT Services offerings, and a growing international channel for its software, License Dashboard. “Our new business pipeline for 2013 looks potentially as exciting, if not more so, than that which we achieved in 2012,” he comments.
Moving into the new financial year, the York-based firm is looking to recruit further, both in Software Asset Management (SAM) and software sales.
“Our business plan for the next 12 months is ambitious, but we believe that the combination of strong customer demand across all our traditional sectors, combined with our track record and experience will allow Phoenix to continue delivering sustainable growth,” comments Forsyth.
Phoenix Software has seen strong trading across the board and particularly in the public sector. Along with its appointment on the Government IT Procurement Framework for Commoditised IT Hardware and Software (CITHS) back in 2010, Phoenix earned places on Pro 5 (all four lots - Microsoft, security, COTS and Education) in 2012 and Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) earlier this month.
The latter opens up the opportunity to provide software licence reseller services to more than a hundred higher and further education institutions in the UK. Worth a potential £60m per year in sales, the SUPC framework is the first time that UK universities have pooled together to purchase software under a national agreement. Phoenix was awarded a place on all four lots under the agreement – for Microsoft, Adobe, VMware and other software solutions.
Phoenix has Microsoft Gold Partner status for Software Asset Management and Volume Licensing, and is an Adobe Platinum Certified Reseller, Symantec Platinum Partner, VMware Premier Solution Provider and Citrix Gold Solution Advisor.
