CMS Distribution to help Western Digital meet SMB demand

Western Digital has appointed CMS Distribution to help grow its UK channel to support demand for NAS devices from the SMB market.

According to Sukh Dhillon, UK senior sales manager for SMB at WD, the deal offers strong long term growth opportunity for the vendor. “The UK’s NAS storage market, while rapidly growing, is still under served.” CMS will focus on the supply and support of WD’s SMB product family including its  Sentinel DX4000, a Windows Storage Server software and Intel Atom-based hardware appliance that scales from 4TB to 16TB with iSCSI SAN Support.

CMS claims it is the UK’s leading supplier of sub $10k NAS solutions and SMB-focused storage technologies will offer WD NAS products to a reseller network of some 2,000 active storage and infrastructure channel partners.

“Partnering with WD on their SMB-focused WD Sentinel NAS portfolio further bolsters our already established position as the leading UK NAS distributor,” says Nick Preston, commercial director for CMS Distribution. “We are delighted to be working with a storage market-leading manufacturer in WD and are excited about the strength such a brand brings to our portfolio.”

The addition of WD sits alongside rivals within the CMS portfolio including Synology, Drobo, Qnap and QSan.
