SDG: To INFINITY and beyond
In addition to offering the storage vendor’s current portfolio of all-Flash storage arrays, SDG will roll out INFINITY installations to resellers from the first quarter of next year.
Paul Eccleston, managing director of SDG EMEA (pictured) describes a “paradigm shift” in the storage market with all-Flash storage technologies: “With our services capability and the ability to leverage our state-of-the-art demonstration facilities, we can accelerate our resellers’ route to market with INFINITY,” he says.
Announced last month, INFINITY is the first hardware expansion from Whiptail enabling customers to scale up and out the company’s 72TB INVICTA array to 360TB of all-Flash storage. The firm says the array is designed to meet demand from enterprises that want to move more business-critical applications to Flash, as they experience productivity gains with initial virtualisation roll-outs.
The channel is a pivotal route to market for Whiptail in Europe, says Brian Feller, VP and general manager of Whiptail EMEA. “As VARs roll out an increasing number of virtualisation projects, the end users want to build flexible delivery into their IT infrastructures and business applications, as well as cope with changing market demands and business requirements with sustainable low costs. This is where our technology comes in.”
Sally Reade, channel director EMEA at Whiptail praised SDG’s “enterprise technology consultants, channel services, and proof-of-concept facilities”, which she reckons will provide resellers with resources and technical expertise in virtualisation, storage, and next-generation enterprise technologies.
