Cisco combines cloud and managed service programmes to create new channel offering

Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) has announced it is combining its cloud and managed services partner programmes to create one new offering.

Richard Roberts, director of Cisco’s UKI partner organisation says it will bring “several elements of the two programmes together” in one programme.

Cisco is merging the Cloud Provider and Cloud Services Reseller roles and the current Managed Services Channel Programme into a single Cloud and Managed Services Programme (CMSP), which it says will “simplify partner engagement and to drive customer opportunities.”

Under the new CMSP, Cisco Powered Service designations will be elevated to mandatory requirements and will distinguish partners within the Master and Advanced programme tiers.

CMSP Master is for partners who sell and deliver at least two Cisco Powered Services (either managed or cloud service designations), built on the IT Infrastructure Library (or ITIL) framework, and who provide enhanced management and stewardship practices to their customers.

CMSP Advanced, meanwhile, is for partners who offer at least one Cisco Powered Service (either managed or cloud service designations), built on the IT Infrastructure Library (or ITIL) framework, and provide basic management capabilities that support Cisco technologies.

In addition, CMSP Express will be for partners who offer at least two Cisco based services.
