4Com appoints national distribution sales manager
Distributor 4Com has appointed John Sargood as its new national distribution sales manager.
The appointment follows the firm’s announcement of its channel only strategy. 4Com says it hasn’t sold to end users under their own brand since 2010, and is now concentrating on the distribution of telephone equipment and the development of hardware and software.
Sargood, who has been in the industry for more than 20 years, will be responsible for managing 4Com’s existing partnerships and developing new relationships with resellers. Prior to this, he held senior positions within several companies in the industry including Datasharp and Daisy Telecom.
Says Sargood: “4Com has been very successful as a reseller and therefore I believe resellers still see us as competition and that’s not the case. As we are now channel only we want to develop new relationships and we pride ourselves on helping our partners to increase their volume of sales and their margins.”
Adds Sargood: “There are other distributors out there that have a catalogue of thousands of products and strive for next day delivery. 4Com offers a tighter catalogue of products but pride ourselves on adding value to the resellers business through offering our comprehensive support...I am very excited to be joining such a strong team and look forward to developing new reseller relationships.”
