IT distributor Magirus has begun its push into the datacentre with the appointment of its first two UK partners, two new senior managers and the successful completion of Cisco (NasdaqGS: CSCO) training for its internal sales teams.
Magirus has appointed Mel Wilks as datacentre sales director and Barry Body as datacentre sales manager. Body recently joined Magirus from systems integrator CSI and Wilks has been promoted up from his former internal role running the distie’s VMware (NYSE: VMW) business. The new management duo will lead a 14 strong team which has completed training and examinations to be certified as ‘Cisco Sales Experts.’
The new Datacentre Division is built around virtualisation from VMware, and networking and servers from Cisco and data storage from EMC (NYSE:EMC). The first two partners to sign up to the new Magirus division are MTI (MTICQ:OTC) and ANS Group.
