VMware appoints Mark Newton to lead UK and Ireland operation

VMware (VMW: NYSE) has recruited Mark Newton as regional director for UK & Ireland.

Newton joins VMware from IBS, where he was in charge of European sales. Prior to this, he held the positions of UK MD at BMC and VP, UK technology sales, at Oracle.
Newton will drive business strategy and growth across the region and oversee VMware’s sales, marketing and customer services operations and execution across the region. He will be driving the company’s delivery of Business Infrastructure Virtualisation solutions to customers ranging from FTSE 100 companies to SMBs, in order to help reduce their costs and enhance corporate IT agility and innovation.
