As part of its global expansion plans, US-based security service provider SecureWorks has acquired UK-based managed security and consulting firm dns.
As part of the deal, SecureWorks will gain a UK-based Security Operations Centre, offices in London and Edinburgh, a team of security analysts and consultants, an Identity and Access Management Practice as well as additional sales and management staff.
SecureWorks has more than 2,700 clients on six continents, while dns was recently described by UK analyst, Butler Group, as a company that “stands out among UK-focused vendors with a comprehensive service offering.”
“Being a part of SecureWorks will greatly benefit our clients and our business,” says Graeme Cox, managing director and founder of dns. “By combining our local expertise and security consulting talent with SecureWorks’ managed security services, consulting and threat intelligence, we can greatly expand the depth and breadth of services we currently offer our clients.
“Our clients now have access to a full portfolio of service offerings that provide superior threat protection, improved regulatory compliance and increased return on security investments.”
“This is a positive move for both SecureWorks and dns and our combined client base,” adds Mike Cote, chairman and CEO of SecureWorks. “We believe in maintaining long-term relationships with our clients and working side by side as their security partner. With such similar values and business objectives, I believe we have chosen the perfect company to acquire as we continue our global expansion.”
