Samsung prints distribution deal with ETC
Distributor ETC is expanding its notebook and netbook deal with Samsung to also incorporate the vendor’s print business.
ETC says it plans to grab 20 percent of the distribution market share within the next six months. It also intends to help resellers grow their Samsung business by 10-15 percent. The distributor claims Samsung’s preferred supplier status for public sector procurement frameworks makes it the vendor an attractive proposition for resellers targeting the public sector.
“Samsung wants to further extend its presence in the printer market,” says Warren Hudson, business unit director, ETC. “We strongly believe it can do that. It has an innovative top-quality product range, aggressive price points, no supply issues, no plans to sell direct and, through its preferred supplier status on a range of procurement frameworks, a proven route into the lucrative public sector for resellers.”
Adds Hudson: “We plan to attract resellers that are new to the Samsung brand, plus we hope to see all of ETC’s current trading Samsung resellers – several hundred – now sell Samsung’s range of printer products. Our objective is to quickly establish ourselves as a leading value added distributor of Samsung print technology.”
ETC, part of SCH Distribution (SCHd), is also expanding its dedicated Samsung reseller support team from three persons to five to ensure complete pre and post sales support for resellers.
